Thorey Sigthorsdottir

Thorey Sigthorsdottir has worked as actress, acting/voice teacher and director for many years since her graduation as an actress in 1991 from the Icelandic Drama School, at the City Theatre, the National Theatre and with Independent Theatre Groups. Thorey works free-lance in her field and is the Head of Voice and Acting at the Icelandic Film School, and on the Editor Board of DRAMA a nordic magazine on dramapedagogy. Thorey holds Teachers Diploma from The Icelandic University of the Arts, MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and MA in Applied Culture and Communication from The University of Iceland. Thorey is an accredited teacher of the Nadine George Voice Technic. Thorey teaches on regular base at The Icelandic University of the Arts, The University of Reykjavik and The University of Iceland. She gives workshops and teaches courses for companies and individuals. Thorey has received a 3 months Artists Salary 2021 for the preparation of the performance “I’m still alive” collaborating with the performance artist Rebekka Ingimundardóttir.
