Nick Ponsillo

Nick is Director of Philip Barker Centre for Creative Learning at The University of Chester, which aims to stimulate, support and explore creativity and the arts across the life course. Previously Nick was Head of Manchester Camerata in the Community (2010-2016), where he developed a leading arts in health programme, established internationally recognised music and dementia projects and collaborated with the British Council on Arts and Ageing and also worked for Hayles & Howe as a scagliola worker building pieces of interior architectural design. Nick is a member of Age Friendly Cheshire West, Culture Forum North and MyHub steering groups, an NHS NW R&D Faculty Associate, Chair of MyHub Music Trust, a Member of Webster Primary School and an RSPH Fellow.

Area of interest

My interest in the project is the potential benefits of integrating arts-based learning experiences within non-arts programmes to bring to life meaningful learning experiences.
